DOUBLE VALVE REPLACEMENT FOR AORTIC AND MITRAL LESIONS IN ADULT PATIENT WITH SMALL AORTIC ANNULUS

In this country the case in which the procedure for aortic annular enlargement is necessary was rare. One patient at our department had severe mitral stenosis and moderate aortic regurgitation with small aortic annulus. Aortic annulus was less than 17 mm in diameter ´ after excision of valve leaflet for aortic valve replacement. Aortic annulus was enlarged with Manouguian technique and aortic and mitral valve replacements (St. Jude Med 19 mm and 27 mm, respectively) were performed. This enlargment procedure appears to be satisfactory for double aortic and mitral valve replacements in adult patient with a small aortic annulus.
